I’m a professional poker player, entrepreneur, and angel investor.
If someone tells you that they are any of these three things, you should be skeptical. Here’s why they apply to me.
Starting with just a $50 bankroll in 2005, I’ve since cleared millions of dollars in profit in the highest stakes games online and in cardrooms in Vegas, Monaco, and Macau.
During the online poker boom, I was a lead instructor and co-owner of the largest poker training site, CardRunners. I helped build CardRunners into a subscription business with over 10,000 members and a thriving poker community.
In early 2016, I cofounded an e-commerce company importing and selling physical products. Most of my professional efforts are currently dedicated to growing this quickly growing business.
I really enjoy investing in early stage companies with teams looking to build value. I’ve written checks directly to start-ups, invested through syndicates, and was one of the first investors in seed fund Right Side Capital Management.
I closed 18 deals in 2017, and look forward to beating that number this year. A few spaces I’m particularly interested in include cryptocurrency, VR, and e-commerce. Some of my portfolio companies I’m most excited about are Martov Co, ClassPass, and Bloomlife.
